Sr. Systems Administrator

  •   Administrated Windows 2000/2003 (Active Directory 2000) server farm of 28 HP Proliant servers, 380+ users, VoIP system.
  • Provided technical day/day support to users in 3 cities in all IT related issues
  •  Carried out an upgrade project for the servers from DELL to HP Proliant with reliable/redundant configurations plus reducing the server numbers from 38 to 28
  • Upgraded MS Exchange 2000 to Enterprise 2003, SQL Standard to SQL2005 Enterprise, Cisco VoIP 4.0 to Cisco VoIP 5.1, installed Blackberry server, Installed and configured AD 2003, & Installed SharePoint 2003 Portal Server

* Providing network technical support to Dubai Municipality users in HQ buildings & remote locations. Troubleshoot all major & minor network problems in HQ or remote offices.
* Provided remote locations with various network connectivity (ISDN, Dial-up, Leased lines E1, PRI, Frame Relay at different bandwidths) extending the services from 5 remote locations in 1999 to over 85 remote location scattered all over Dubai Emirate to date with more than 2000 users working 24x7.
* Lead the Network Services Unit team in setting Dubai Municipality General Projects cabling infrastructure/IT standards, moreover played major role in setting up procedure manual for the Section.
* Working with Dubai Municipality General Projects Department as a consultant on all new buildings cabling infrastructure design, implementation, IT requirements, & IT recommendations that to be sent to Projects Consultants, Contractors or for Tendering with full administration on all voice infrastructure issues.
* Acted as team leader in implementing network design change, Core switches upgrade; edge switches upgrade, routers upgrade, bandwidth upgrade, including IOS FW/SW upgrades.
* Acted as team leader in design, evaluate & implementing Wireless Network for the head quarter buildings, which includes evaluating several products such as Cisco, Nortel, Avaya, & 3Com.
* Designed, evaluate and Installed WLAN in a major remote sites externally (between Buildings) and internally (within the buildings) such as DM Club, Hazardous Waste Center, & IT Department using 802.11b/a/g technologies.
* Administrated the WINS server, DHCP servers, and CiscoWorks Server in DM.
* Worked with Operations Unit team & HP Middle East team members in upgrading the OS to WIN2K from NT4SP5 in all the servers in all the locations.
